Meant for More Coach - Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteer Job Description

Meant For More Coaches invest in the lives of high school and middle school Christian student leaders who want coaching and help to reach their public school, peers, and friends with the good news of Jesus and to grow as Christian leaders. Coaches get a mission field of a whole public high school, up to several thousand students. The Coach's job is to empower by coaching and mentoring the Christian student leaders to be missionaries at their school, peers and friends so that lost students can be awakened to the love of Christ this year!

Meet with your Christian student leadership team

Invest in the lives of students, help them grow in their walk with Christ, develop them in their Christian leadership, personal evangelism, personal follow-up, pray for them, pray with them, and equip them to reach their schools, peers, and friends for Christ through simple training objectives.

  1. Identify and develop future leaders.

  2. Gather support from the Christian Community.

  3. Give your whole school, peer groups and friends the chance to hear the gospel.

Go witnessing with your students

Teach students how to share the gospel and their testimony. Then take the students witnessing throughout the year. (It’s okay if you don’t know how to do this; all NSP Coaches receive witnessing training. Note: alternative methods of witnessing will be implemented due to COVID-19.)

Help Christian students lead Bible Studies

Help Christian student leaders lead Bible studies with other Christian students to develop and multiply future leaders to evangelize thousands of students across the nation. The ultimate aim is to see Christian students host Meant for More Bible studies to have Community and encourage one another, to Connect with Jesus through his Word, and to fulfill Jesus’ Commission in reaching others with the hope & love of Jesus.

Help Christian students lead Conversation Groups

Help Christian student leaders lead a group of non-believing students in gospel conversation groups so they know they are meant for more than this world. The ultimate aim is to engage non-believers by introducing them to Jesus in a structured, accessible, and conversational way. Students leading a Meant for More Conversation Group will be determined on a case by case basis.

Be a part of the team – typically Weekly Team Meetings // 1 hour

Be in community with other Coaches on your team, receive ongoing training for your role, be encouraged, worship, and pray together. Depending on your area, these meetings with other team members may be weekly or another schedule. (Note: these meetings will likely be online in light of COVID-19.)

Grow as a Leader –  Meetings with your supervisor

Meet regularly with your supervisor - an NSP Lead Coach or Chapter Director - to receive personal support, training, prayer, so that you grow in leadership and can be thoroughly equipped to coach and mentor students.

Coach Commitments and Values

In addition to participating in the events listed above, NSP Coaches understand and commit to uphold some key values

  • Personal Character: NSP Coaches have high character. If provisionally accepted, NSP Coaches will undergo a background check and agree to complete additional steps in our volunteer registration process before final approval is given to coach student leaders.

  • Faithfulness of Coaching: NSP Coaches commit to serve as a Coach for the entirety of the school year, so their team and their students can depend on them.

  • Biblical Integrity: As an interdenominational ministry focussed on the gospel, NSP upholds several counter-cultural convictions: the Bible is the inerrant Word of God, heaven and hell are real, sex is for traditional marriage, and evangelism is effective. NSP Coaches commit to uphold these and other biblical values in word and deed, through God's strength.
